The source of our action The greatest gift any person may give another is themselves. To give off oneself requires sacrifice, it's more than the action of determination, it's more than the connivence of the moment it's the act of love that denies instant gratification for eternal significance through the joy of another. Some parents are seen expressing that love to their own, some children reciprocate with a love of commitment and passion. Yet for many the love of self becomes an idol they refuse to compromise outside their “own," many claim to be givers yet will with ease abuse a stranger, some will claim forgiveness for their own and hate to any “other”. Is it truly possible to be that split, to have such destructive and restorative power working in one and the same. I will say that for a while it may appear so. But inconsistency is consistent. In the end a cruel employer will be cruel in indirect ways to even their closest loves, this may be expre...
The Power of Influence The most powerful influencer is he who can change the hear, behaviour must follow where the heart will lead. Most people who deal with subordinates desire to make them change or align to certain behaviour. Parents and teachers may use bribes and discipline to ensure behavioural change. The focus on behavioural change to meet the approval of leaders or admission into the "group" is then ingrained into the child. What may not have changed in the child or individual is to agree on the principles that demand the change of behaviour. Human beings are fickle, a child will learn that early on that the capacity of being inconsistent is found in those who care for him/her. Because people are inconsistent they may also be manipulated for a set time. But how does that impact adults as they apply the lesson learned into maturity. When people became the judge and jury of our lives, we begin to make them idols and their rule over us will harm us, not because t...
Silenced by Uniformity When one looks at the world and views the beauty of creation, It is a wonder that there’re such diverse groups in creation yet in the midsts of each group the individual is unique. You look at the field and see that grass yet in its similarly as being grass, each leave shouts for attention that you would take time to check deeper and realise that each leave is uniquely lined. Suddenly the beauty that was so clear and flowing is riveting with diversity and deeper meaning. That God would choose to make each bee different - unique that in the midst of the mass of its hive it would not be forgotten or lost. Indeed the uniqueness a stamp, treasured by the creator and every observer who dares to see beyond the obvious. Yet one must ask is uniformity progress, is peace equal to the demand of silence, indeed is individuality a danger to society. Let it not be so in our eyes that we can only accept others and their difference by denying ourselves. Ra...
